Short answer: a plug-in fibre optic ambient kit takes about 10 minutes. Plug the controller into the 12V socket, tuck each fibre line into a trim seam with a bank card, trim the ends, then set the colour in the app. No tools, no drilling, no wiring into the car.
| Step | What you do | Time |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Plan where each line goes | 2 min |
| 2 | Plug in and test | 1 min |
| 3 | Tuck the fibre into the seams | 5 min |
| 4 | Trim and hide the ends | 1 min |
| 5 | Set colour and brightness in the app | 1 min |

Before you start
- Check the seams. Slide a bank card along the joins in your dash and door trim. If it goes in a few millimetres, the fibre will too.
- Check your 12V socket. Most switch off with the ignition. If yours stays live, unplug the kit or switch it off in the app when you leave.
- Fit it parked, in daylight. It is easier to see the seams.
Step 1: Plan your four lines
The kit has 4 light lines, each with its own light unit. A common layout is one across the dash, one on each front door and one by the console or a footwell. Each line lights up only while it is connected to its light unit, so plan where the units will sit, usually tucked under the dash or in a door pocket.
Step 2: Plug in and test
Connect the light units to the controller, plug the controller into the 12V socket and pair it with the app. Check every line lights before you fit anything.
Step 3: Tuck the fibre into the seams
Start at the light unit end. Push the fibre into the trim seam with the edge of a bank card, working along a few centimetres at a time. Keep the line straight and even so the glow looks built in.

Step 4: Trim and hide the ends
Cut each line to length at the end of the seam. A cut piece that is not connected to a light unit will not light, so only cut the free end. Tuck the cables and light units out of sight.
Step 5: Set it up in the app
Choose a colour, set the brightness and turn on music sync if you want it. Keep it dim while driving, as interior lighting rules vary by country.

Troubleshooting
- One line is dark: check it is pushed fully into its light unit.
- The fibre pops out: push it deeper, or choose a tighter seam.
- The app will not connect: make sure the controller is powered and Bluetooth is on, then retry.

How long does it take?
About 10 minutes for most cars.
Do I need to remove trim?
No. The fibre tucks into the existing seams.
Will it drain my battery?
Not if your 12V socket switches off with the ignition, which most do. It draws 9 W while on.
